YouRhema is a faith-centered social application operated by YOURHEMA LLC. This policy explains how YouRhema collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information through the mobile application, account services, public sharing pages, and related support services.
The initial launch is intended for the United States. By using YouRhema, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
Information you provide
Registration requires your name, birthday, email address, and password. We use your birthday to enforce the minimum age of 13. Your password is stored as a one-way hash rather than in readable form. After email verification, YouRhema assigns an initial username that you may change subject to the product rules.
You may optionally provide profile information such as a country, gender, relationship status, biography, avatar, and cover photo. Email address and birthday are not public profile fields.
Content and activity
We process content and activity that you choose to create or submit, including posts, captions, comments, photos, videos and their audio, image descriptions, likes, follows, blocks, reports, feedback, notification interactions, and preferences.
Search requests are sent to our service to return matching accounts. A recent-search list may be stored locally on your device for the signed-in account. Posts, biographies, images, videos, comments, prayers, or reflections may reveal personal information, including religious beliefs, when you choose to include it. YouRhema does not create a required denomination field or infer a religious-interest profile from ordinary Watch playback.
Device and technical information
To operate and secure the service, we process account and session records, verification and recovery records, current and historical usernames, request information, and privacy-protected network identifiers.
If you enable push notifications, we process a device installation identifier, push token, platform, and device language. If you choose to include diagnostics with feedback, we may receive the app version and build, platform, operating-system version, device model, locale, timezone, network reachability, timestamp, and recent request identifiers. Optional diagnostics are used for support, troubleshooting, and service reliability, not advertising.
Purchase information
YouRhema may offer optional, one-time Support YouRhema purchases. They do not unlock features, improve ranking or visibility, or change moderation treatment. We may retain the product identifier, amount, currency, payment provider, internal payment identifier, store transaction or order reference, purchase status, timestamps, and refund, partial-refund, or dispute status.
Google Play, Apple, Stripe, or another approved payment provider handles the payment method. YouRhema does not receive or store full card numbers, card security codes, bank-login credentials, or wallet credentials.
How we use information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and improve YouRhema and to meet legal obligations.
- Create, verify, authenticate, recover, and manage accounts.
- Provide profiles, Home, search, follows, comments, media, Featured Updates, Watch, notifications, and settings.
- Process, optimize, store, deliver, and remove photos, videos, audio, and other user content.
- Moderate content, investigate reports, prevent abuse, protect users, and enforce our rules.
- Process and verify optional purchases, refunds, disputes, and payment history.
- Respond to support, feedback, privacy, safety, and legal requests.
- Diagnose failures, maintain reliability, and protect the service against fraud and security threats.
Who can see information
Eligible signed-in users may see your name, username, profile presentation, posts, comments, media, and social information, subject to blocking, moderation, deactivation, deletion, and other access rules. Requiring sign-in does not mean that your content is limited to followers.
Signed-out visitors receive a generic page for shared user profiles and posts. Eligible staff-managed Featured Updates may be public. Authorized staff may access information needed to operate the service, investigate reports, administer payments, and protect users. Reports, private account details, and internal moderation notes are not ordinary public content.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate YouRhema. They receive only the information reasonably necessary for their functions and are expected to process it under applicable contractual and security obligations.
- Render for application hosting, databases, and background processing.
- Cloudflare for DNS, security, content delivery, and private R2 object storage.
- Amazon Web Services, including Amazon SES, for eligible transactional and notification email.
- Expo Push Service, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Apple Push Notification service for optional push delivery.
- OpenAI for enabled text and image safety assessment. Depending on production configuration, Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch or AWS Rekognition may provide a fallback or specialist image-safety function.
- Google Play Billing, Apple StoreKit, and, for separately eligible routes, Stripe for optional payments and provider-authoritative transaction verification.
- Cloudflare Access and Microsoft Entra for restricted staff authentication.
When information is disclosed
We do not sell or rent personal information, and the current service does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- At your direction, when you publish content or interact with other users.
- To service providers acting for YouRhema as described above.
- To comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests, or to protect rights, safety, users, and the service.
- As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate notice and safeguards where required.
Moderation and safety
Submitted text, images, videos, image descriptions, reports, and related context may be reviewed by automated systems and authorized staff. Content sent for automated assessment may itself contain identifying information, even when account identifiers and private storage URLs are not separately included in the assessment request.
Before publication, applicable content may receive an allow or reject decision. After publication, content may be reassessed because of a report, a safety concern, or a relevant policy or model change. A report alone does not establish a violation. YouRhema makes the final moderation decision and may preserve restricted evidence when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, appeals, or legal obligations.
Notifications and communications
Account and security messages, including email verification and password recovery, are necessary service communications. Optional push and email notifications depend on your settings and, for push, device permission. Push previews use limited or generic text where practical.
Retention, deactivation, and deletion
You can delete supported posts and profile media without deleting your account. Deleting content removes it from normal user surfaces, although temporary copies, backups, or restricted safety records may remain for the periods described below.
Deactivating your account hides it from normal use, revokes active sessions, and disables enabled push registrations. You have 30 days to restore the account. After that period, restoration is unavailable and the permanent cleanup process removes normal account data, posts, comments, relationships, likes, feedback, received notifications, authentication records, media associations, and owned media. Cleanup may require retries.
- Encrypted recovery backups may contain earlier data for up to 30 days before expiration.
- Temporary uploads and failed processing artifacts are removed under operational cleanup schedules.
- Payment, refund, dispute, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legally required records may be retained for the period required by applicable law and provider obligations.
- Restricted safety or enforcement evidence may be retained only as reasonably necessary for safety, appeals, fraud prevention, investigations, or legal obligations, with identifying details removed where the approved purge contract requires it.
- An anonymized account-lifecycle record and limited identifiers needed to prevent abuse or impersonation may remain after normal account data is removed.
Security
We use measures such as access controls, encrypted transport, encrypted sensitive fields, password hashing, private media storage, short-lived media links, session controls, staff access restrictions, and operational monitoring. No system can eliminate every security risk.
Age requirements
YouRhema requires users to be at least 13 years old. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action. The minimum-age rule does not by itself resolve every requirement that may apply to minors in a particular jurisdiction.
Your controls and privacy requests
You can update supported profile and account fields, manage notification and language preferences, block or unblock accounts, delete supported content, remove profile media, and start account deletion from the app. You may also request access, correction, deletion, or another applicable privacy right by contacting us. We may verify your identity before completing a request.
For complete account-deletion and selective-data-deletion instructions, visit https://yourhema.com/data-deletion. Do not send passwords or verification codes in a privacy request.
Changes to this policy
We version published privacy policies and retain their wording. Material updates use a new version and effective date. We will provide any notice or renewed acknowledgement required by applicable law before relying on the updated policy.
